First off, great article: seeing the forest for the trees. But the basic problem is the code object does a finite work set while what it doesn't do is infinite. Not knowing how an object's internals are coded leads to chasing the infinite. Much like Steve Jobs, Mr. Hastings probably can pick good programmers (intuitive) and pay them well so that they chase beauty. Rarely is the beautiful faulty. Maybe that is confused with quality gate effectiveness. On another note I am going back to books and avoiding video as its quality these days is not so good and there are only so many classics.
