Conclusion
All of the solutions mentioned in this article have been successfully applied in developing applications with ILOG JViews visualization components.
In conclusion, we must pay close attention to the design of JSF components with Ajax behavior in JSR 168 Portals. JSR 168 specifications and current Portlet bridges were not designed according to this use case. However, new JSRs, such as Portlet 2 specification and Portlet Bridge Specification for JSF intend to address the existing issues of Ajax JSF components in portals. The OpenAjax Alliance wants to complement such efforts and has created a Server Integration task force to help integrate Ajax components into server-side frameworks as JSFs.
